i was thinking about the postage system the other day and also at the same time/ in intervals, about free stuff. i think a nice collaborative idea would be that i ask people to walk an object to a certain place and then give it to another person almost like a relay race, but with out the race part and the continuous circle part and with a different object replacing the batton. the participants are allowed to go wherever they like, the route might be on their journey to work etc. but they can take the object with them as far as they like until they dont take part in the game anymor. i ill then take the object from them and ask another passer-byer to do the same and repeat the process. once i have one as far as i feel i want to go i will stop and carry on the journey a different day... also it might be nice to make jewelry on the lazer cuter of the routes i have taken with these people. e.g. go on oogle maps and find the route i took, print sceen it, edit in adobe illustrator and use the laser cutter to produce objects from the designs.
Hi Yvonne
I had a meeting with you and some other students last week, i'v discarded my ideas from then, but i wondered if it has to be one project alone or if i can attempt more than one... for example i plan to do a collaboration with a musician currently studying at Leeds college of music. I will make a video to accompany his tracks and maybe have an influence on them. i would also like to do another about locomotion and collaborating with the public and documenting it with film and/ or making jewelry out of routes (this will be a shorter project). Can i do both if i have time, even if they are unrelated?
Kindest Regards
Sam Jones (Art and Design, Interdisciplinary- Y2)
