After going on the film walk with college today ran by will rose i have been inspired to wright down some ideas i had during the day.

  • film projected on water at night.
  • film projected on water fall at night.
  • film projected on floated passing objects in water at night. birdseye view from above/bridge, maybe drop a1 paper in water... biodegradable if possible. also shoot more that on scenario of a sceen and add all possible outcomes into the film, then when a peice of paper goes past and the film is projected on to it, it will show part of a scenario, and then so will the next peice of paper making the viewing different every time and leaving gaps for the viewer to fill in themselves about the story. i'm not really sure how sound might fit into this. maybe a neutral sound? or just the sound of the surroundings might be quite effective.
  • film projected on water attached to a boat at night.
  • go film in the woods
  • get lost and film

will showed us a film called monolog by Laure Prouvost it was a mixture between words on screen imagery and spoken dialogue. one feels sort of flooded with information and questions regarding this film. she said on a documentary that she thinks words can produce just as powerful imagery in the minds eye than an image can. also it's so personal. in monolog she is looking and talking about ideals. i am very interested in ideals.

so today we watched films in differnt situations and ways.

  1. a tv shop- the wall was covered in 3d tv's all playing the same art film. a person inspected the tv to see if it was worthy of his money. there were free lolly pops.
  2. an abandoned cinema. dark. cold. smelt like dog. now used as a religios space. film was shown on 35mm film projector, run on burning carbon rods. projected very large.
  3. hyde park picture house. a wide range of interesting films and performances. some involving viewer instructions and another an artist being instructed by another. some were set up on tiny screens. some had the content of the film in physical right there infront.
